Wythe Creek Road Cleanup
Chairperson - John Kuhn
This program is part of the "Adopt-a-Spot" program of Virginia which encourages citizens
to participate in litter cleanup in designated areas of their community. The Exchange Club
is given materials by the city to help with cleanups plus signs are erected to identify the Club's designated area.
The Exchange area starts at the intersection of Wythe Creek Rd and Victory Blvd. It runs south from the intersection to the
bridge on Wythe Creek Rd. "Adopt-a-Spot" requires that we do four cleanups a year, but the club does a little better with a cleanup every
2 months and a special cleanup prior to the Poquoson Seafood Festival.
After each cleanup, the club is required to notify the City Manager's Office (868-3000) indicating how many bags of trash were
picked up and how many people participated. We normally have six to eight club members at each cleanup.
